SF2 Edge Challenge

Real systems. Real data.
Real insights.

Evaluate your use case in the SF2 Edge Challenge. Submit your time-series data for a complimentary evaluation. We analyze your sensor streams for subtle process drift and early fault signatures—fully confidential, air-gapped, and purely signal-based.

Challenge

Developed for systems where classical
thresholds fail

High failure costs

Unplanned downtime causes high costs. Clear fault patterns, however, are often difficult to isolate during operation.

Abundance of data without labels

Time series, SCADA, and log data are plentiful - but rarely cleanly labeled or directly interpretable.

Operational data remains protected

For the initial validation, anonymized technical data without confidential company details is sufficient.

If you have a demanding or unsolved use case, we start with your technical objective and available sensor or process data. Together, we verify which machine states, subtle transitions, and early state changes can be reliably detected – long before deciding on a production rollout. You can start with an anonymized dataset, or keep sensitive data completely inside your network.

Input requirements & project deliverables

What you provide

  • A brief description of a real industrial use case
  • Optional: Historical sensor, SCADA, MES, or log data
  • Optional: Historical alarms, maintenance logs, quality records, or downtime instances

What you receive

  • Early warning indicators: We determine whether your available data reveals early wear signatures, quality degradation, or impending downtime – well before traditional alarm thresholds trigger.
  • Clear state classification: We reveal the gradual process shifts behind complex or unexplained machine states – delivering clear, deterministic analysis without guesswork.
  • A solid technical decision basis: You gain a clear go/no-go recommendation for your predictive maintenance strategy – proven on your own data before you commit budget to software licenses or hardware rollouts.

Procedure

Process

  1. 01

    Describe use case

You briefly outline the system, the issue, and existing data channels.

  2. 02

    Coordinate data export

We clarify together which data format is sufficient for an initial analysis.

  3. 03

    Conduct analysis

SF2 Systems generates state fingerprints and identifies relevant changes.

  4. 04

    Discuss results

We show transparently what is technically recognizable in the dataset.

  5. 05

    Choose the next step

If the use case holds, we define a proof of value, an edge pilot, or the next implementation step.

Start Your SF2 Edge Challenge

Outline your machinery and available data sources. Your submission is non-binding, requires no disclosure of proprietary trade secrets, and creates no obligation for future data sharing.

Note: No raw data is uploaded during this initial step. Following our initial review, we will provide a secure, encrypted upload link if required.

Outlook

What happens next

  1. 01

    Non-binding initial review

We review your description and assess the technical feasibility.

  2. 02

    Coordination meeting

We jointly discuss objectives, data situation, and framework conditions.

  3. 03

    You decide

Data exchange is initiated only after you review and approve the setup.
